Research at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Loerrach
Extending beyond the curriculum and coursework, the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) has been actively involved in interdisciplinary and joint research and development projects for the past 20 years.
R+D projects are carried out via a number of channels, for instance within the framework of students' work reports and thesis papers or funded research by third-party institutions, such as the EU, as well as at the DHBW-affiliated Steinbeis Technology Transfer Centers.
An excellent example of such a project funded by the EU is the creation of a groundbreaking international platform for on-campus and distance learning, which enables students to log onto their learning environment at any time.
A further positive result of R+D activities at the DHBW has been the establishment of the Master´s degree program Intelligent Embedded Microsystems (IEMS) in collaboration with the University of Freiburg, which makes great use of online learning techniques.
Our professors are involved in giving reviews and lectures at numerous conferences at home and abroad, in addition to being tightly integrated in a wide range of scientific and standard-setting committees.
Both lecturers and representatives of industry put the Steinbeis concept into practice by cooperating together locally and on a nationwide scale in order to develop and implement the latest technologies and methodologies.
